About Me

My name is Musashi Nakamura and I run the Nakamura Seitai Clinic. I am a qualified Seitai Therapist. I have been practicing since April 2014, after undergoing supervised training for 7 years prior. I am formally accredited by the International College of Health - Seitai. Apart from standard spinal manipulation, I also incorporate deep tissue massage and acupressure within my work. This means that I am able to adjust my treatment according to the needs and state of the patient, offering firm to very gentle skeletal manipulation for those in a delicate state.

I am an avid gym-goer, and my hobbies involve callisthenics, martial arts, and gymnastics. Therefore, I often use Seitai techniques on my own body and am able to work with sports enthusiasts and professionals to improve their performance.

What is Seitai? (整体)

The kind of treatment I provide at the Nakamura Seitai Clinic is a Japanese form of chiropractic and osteopathic treatment, based on the philosophy of traditional Chinese medicine (meridians and pressure points). It involves a variety of different musculoskeletal adjustments and manipulations, acupressure and deep tissue massage. Musculoskeletal adjustments can be done using the hands to apply force to the muscles, bones and joints in and around the spine either by short and sharp thrusting movements or by slow and gentle adjustment of acupressure points.

The Japanese word Seitai (整体) literally means ‘to bring the body into order’. “Seitai” in Japanese is used to refer to a range of osteopathic and chiropractic therapies. Seitai was developed by Kiyoshi Kato during the last century in Osaka, Japan.

I use seitai to treat a variety of musculoskeletal symptoms. Seitai is a Japanese form of chiropractic & osteopathic treatment. The different techniques allow for flexible treatments, including of patients in a sensitive state (e.g. where a muscle has seized up and manipulation is difficult).
